6012, 215, 4.53

Notes: From Wilmington, NC. Raised by a single mom. Has a young son. Failed to meet NCAA academic requirements out of high school and missed the 2013 season. Campus police arrested him in February 2014 at Scott Hall dormitory for possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, however the charges were dropped in a case the school has described as a misunderstanding over a prescription drug. Played in 8 games, including 2 starts, as a true freshman, catching 14 passes for 264 yards (18.9 avg.) and 4 touchdowns and returned 11 kickoffs for 258 yards (28.5 avg.) before missing the final 5 games because of a left knee injury in 2014. Suspended for violating team rules for the first 3 games, played in 9 with 5 starts, caught 41-496-4 (12.1 avg.), returned kickoffs 10-193 and punts 2-13 in 2015. Was ruled academically ineligible, lacking enough credits, and did not play in 2016. Played in all 12 games, caught 60-1,069-7 (17.8 avg.), rushed 2-16, returned kickoffs 21-452 (21.5 avg.) and punts 1-2 in 2017. In 12 games he caught 74-1,123-9 (15.2 avg.), rushed 1 (-2), returned kickoffs 12-225 (18.8 avg.) and punts 12-88 (7.3 avg.). His mother and other family back home sustained significant damage to their apartments during Hurricane Florence in September 2018 and lived out of their cars for about a week. Graduated in 2018.

Positives: Nice size, length and hands. Big, physical receiver who can shield defenders from the ball. Can adjust to and high point the football. Good speed and run-after-the-catch ability. Makes big plays. Has shown improvement from year to year and become more consistent with his route running. Willing blocker downfield.

Negatives: Lacks refinement and sophistication when it comes to running a complete route tree of pass patterns. Needs overall development. Has had some off-field issues.

Summary: Good talent who make take a little time to adapt to the details and complexity of the pro game.
