Terry McLaurin, WR, Ohio State #83

6002, 205, 4.47

Notes: From Indianapolis, IN. Former Indiana Mr. Football. Has not missed a game, playing in all 13 games in 2015 and 2016, and starting all 14 games in 2017. Did not catch any passes as a freshman in 2015. Caught 10-107-2 in 2016. Caught 29-436-6 in 2017. Graduated in December 2017 with his degree in communications. Was the program’s outstanding student-athlete at last year’s Cotton Bowl.

Positives: Very good size-speed ratio. Excellent acceleration and long speed. Simply runs by defenders at times if they hesitate or peek into the backfield. Very effective vertical threat from the slot. Nice hands and concentration. Catches the ball well. Can turn a short toss into a long gain. Often pulls away from pursuit after the catch. Isn’t afraid to work the middle of the field. Creates separation with his burst and the threat of his speed. Known for making key blocks downfield. Really takes pride in how he plays without the ball. Not significantly used on returns, but has the tools there and also the mentality to be a gunner on kick coverage. Hard worker in the classroom and on the practice field.

Negatives: Not exceptionally dynamic and a bit of a straight-line type. Can still get more precise in his pass routes. Has never been the featured receiver.

Summary: Solid, clean, all-around prospect who checks virtually all the boxes.
