Grant Perry, WR, Michigan #88

5115, 195, 4.52

Notes: From Bloomfield Hills, MI. Played in 13 games as a freshman, catching 14 passes for 128 yards and 1 touchdown, in 2015. Played in 10 games, caught 13-183-1, in 2016. Perry was sentenced to 12 months probation and 60 hours of community service in August 2017 due to an incident that occurred outside an East Lansing bar in which the judge and prosecutor agreed was not sexually motivated, but rather a crime of "arrogance, entitlement and power." He pleaded guilty to one felony count of resisting a police officer and one misdemeanor count of assault and battery earlier. He had two charges of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct removed from his record. The judge agreed to sentence Perry under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act, meaning his convictions would be set aside until the completion of his probation. If compliant with all terms of his probation, the convictions would be vacated. With his legal case resolved, he appeared in 11 games with one start, caught 25-307-1, in 2017.

Positives: Reliable hands. Crisp route runner who can work the short-to-intermediate area of the field nicely. Good acceleration out of his cuts. Very good open-field runner after the catch. Hustles to block downfield. Would seem to have good tools for kickoff returns. Has also contributed on special teams.

Negatives: No truly outstanding physical characteristic. Does not have great size or true deep speed.

Summary: Unspectacular but steady slot receiver prospect. He will face lots of questions from pro teams about the legal incident.
