Zach Gentry, TE, Michigan #83

Notes: From Albuquerque, NM. High school quarterback. Did not see game action as a freshman in 2015. Saw limited action in 7 games in 2016. Played in all 13 games with 11 starts and caught 17 passes for 303 yards (17.8 avg.) and 2 touchdowns in 2017. Played in all 13 games and caught 32-514-2 (16.1 avg.) in 2018.

Positives: Outstanding height, overall length and catch radius. Generally very good hands and reliable pass-catcher. Able to make contested catches. Above average movement skills and knows how to get open. Decent footspeed for his size. Adequate effort as blocker; effective downfield and in space. Good natural feel for the game.

Negatives: Lacks bulk and good functional football strength as an in-line blocker. Struggles on pass protection. Needs to get stronger. Not an elite athlete or true stretch-the-defense deep threat.

Summary: A nice-sized pass-catching target with solid hands and all-around receiving skills to carve out a job at the next level.
