Terence Williams, RB, Houston #22

6011, 222, 4.62

Notes: Native of Ennis, TX. Dressed for 8 of 13 games, but did not see any action, in 2014. Played in 9 of 13 games as a backup running back and special teamer in 2015; rushed for 459 yards on 72 carries (6.4 avg.) and 1 touchdown. Played in 12 of 13 games and made 6 starts at running back, rushed 185-1,048-11 (5.7 avg.) and caught 2 passes for 22 yards, in 2016. Suffered a shoulder injury during spring practice in 2017 and missed significant time as a result. Played in 8 games with 5 starts, rushing 73-255-1 (3.5 avg.) and caught 6-40. There were rumors Williams left the team midseason following a message he posted on social media, but he remained with the Bears through the conclusion of the 2017 season per a vote from the team’s “leadership council.” After graduating in May 2018, he transferred to Houston.

Positives: Nice size with natural strength and tackle-breaking power. Can pick up tough yards inside. Good balance and determination. Slashing runner with above average speed for size. Good vision and pick. Finds daylight. Can catch the ball. Has tools to handle blocking.

Negatives: Appears to be coasting at times. Struggles when forced laterally. Isn’t that nifty or elusive. Had some conflict with coaches and was questioned for his commitment to the team while at Baylor.

Summary: Can wear down a defense but is not particularly creative and needs to demonstrate more overall commitment to the finer points of his game.
