Notes: From La Habra, CA. Married. Redshirted in 2014. Played in all 13 games, starting 6, with 28 tackles and 1 TFL in 2015. Started all 14 games at defensive tackle and made 35 tackles, 8 TFL and 3.5 sacks in 2016. Started all 13 games, posting 30 tackles, 5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 3 PBU and 1 FR in 2017.

Positives: Fireplug at the point of attack who excels at holding the line of scrimmage and occupying blockers, freeing up teammates to make tackles. Very powerful and quick for his size. Rarely gets moved off the ball. Can stand up and control blockers, play off blocks and fill potential run lanes. Excellent ball awareness. Understands leverage. Plays with selfless discipline and seldom takes himself out of position. Very intense, tough and physical. Works hard. Non-stop motor. Disruptive at times but plays within the scheme. Has learned to get his arms up and disrupt passing lanes, showing good instincts and anticipation, even when blocked on the pass rush.

Negatives: Lacks ideal height and has limited athletic ability, upfield speed and pass-rush ability.

Summary: A real anchor-type run clogging inside defender who doesn’t stay blocked and helps others around him succeed.
