6041, 247, 4.87

Notes: Grew up in the Detroit and Flint, Michigan area until he was 11 years old. Graduated from high school in Coffeyville, TX. Redshirted in 2015. Played in all 13 games, credited with 35 tackles, 5.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks, 1 pass breakup and 1 fumble recovery in 2016. In 12 games, he posted 57 tackles, 16.5 TFL, 11 sacks, 1 PBU, 4 forced fumbles and 2 FR in 2017. Started all 12 games and registered 70 tackles, 19 TFL, 7.5 sacks, 1 interception (returned 2 yards for touchdown), 4 PBU, 4 FF, 1 FR and 1 blocked kick in 2018. Ended his EMU career with 41 career TFL and 20 career sacks, both ranked second in school history.

Positives: Natural pass rusher with elite initial quickness off the snap and a knack for sidestepping and out-quicking offensive linemen. Fine athlete with outstanding agility and balance. Good hand use and speed off the edge. Can dip his shoulder and shows some bend. Difficult to keep blocked. Very good ball awareness and instincts. Disruptive into the backfield against the run. Non-stop motor. Tough, intense and competitive. Flies upfield and crashes hard down the line. Chases plays down from the backside.

Negatives: Narrow frame. Lacks bulk and ballast. Gets moved off the ball at the point of attack at times and struggles to hold his ground once engaged. Often needs to elude blockers instead of taking them on.

Summary: Has size-strength limitations, but can make an impact as a pass-rush specialist or as part of a rotation.
