Johnnie Dixon, WR, Ohio State #1

5111, 198, 4.53

Notes: From West Palm Beach, FL. Was limited by knee issues (tendonitis) in each of his first three years with the Buckeyes, appearing in just 14 games (2 in 2014, 5 in 2015 and 7 in 2016). Medical redshirt in 2014. Caught 1-29 in 2015. Caught 6-26 in 2016. Played in 13 of 14 games in 2017, and caught 18-422 (23.4 avg.) and 8 touchdowns. Very avid about a couple of his hobbies – bowling and photography.

Positives: Has a knack for making get behind defenders and making big plays. Tracks the ball nicely. Reliable hands. Effective runner after the catch and can turn a short catch into a long gain. Continually challenges downfield, but can also work underneath routes and is nifty and elusive in the open field. Well respected in the wide receiver room, known by the nickname “Zone 6” where everyone plays and nobody is truly featured.

Negatives: Knee issues are a concern, and he was underproductive his first three seasons. Has never been a true featured receiver. Has other interests and may not be 100% fixed on a pro career.

Summary: Can make a team and contribute as a backup if he really wants it and passes the medical checks.
