Mike Weber, RB, Ohio State #25

5087, 215, 4.52

Notes: From Detroit, MI, and originally committed to Michigan but changed his mind and ultimately went to Ohio State. Redshirted his first year in Columbus in 2015. Became the starting running back in 2016, rushing 182-1,096-9 (6.0 avg.) and caught 23 passes for 91 yards. Played in 12 games, was slowed at times by a hamstring injury, rushed 101-626-10 (6.2 avg.) with a long run of 82 yards and caught 10-94 in 2017.

Positives: Quick, strong and compact with excellent feet and balance. Not easily knocked off his feet. Excellent run vision and instincts. Great first cut. Can stop, start, change directions and make people miss. Good burst to daylight. Explosive and field fast, with big play ability anytime he finds a running lane upfield. Seldom caught from behind. Strong for size. Has a knack for bouncing off defenders. Very good hands. Catches the ball well. Effective blocker.

Negatives: Short and smaller than you’d like. Doesn’t have great lateral movement skills. Has had some fumbling issues.

Summary: Smaller but very complete every-down, all-around back.
