James Williams, RB, Washington State #32

5110, 205, 4.54

Notes: Born in Toledo, OH, he graduated from high school in Burbank, CA. Redshirted in 2015. Appeared in all 13 games, making 2 starts, gained 584 yards on 102 carries (5.7 avg.) with 6 touchdowns and a long run of 38 yards and also caught 48 passes for 342 yards and 1 TD in 2016. Played in all 13 games with 3 starts, rushed 92-395-1 (4.3 avg.) and caught 71-482-3 in 2017. Started all 13 games, rushed 122-560-12 (4.6 avg.) and caught 83-613-4 in 2018.

Positives: Good vision and instincts. Quick and shifty with nice burst of acceleration to daylight. Can make people miss and string together moves in the open field. Phenomenal balance and determination. Runs with authority and decisiveness. Bounces off tacklers, stays on his feet and is a very competitive runner. Highly involved in the passing game as a receiver. Excellent hands. Outstanding receiver. Adjusts to the ball well and is a like a magnet when you throw to him out of the backfield.

Negatives: Average size and lacks elite power, tackle-breaking strength and true breakaway speed.

Summary: Will definitely carve out a role as a third-down back in the NFL. Solid all-purpose running back. Maybe not a top-tier prospect, but a player with minimal downside or risk.
