Juwon Young, ILB-OLB-DE, Marshall #4

6015, 248, 4.86

Notes: From Albany, GA. Began his college career at Miami (Fla.). Played in 13 games, making 4 tackles, in 2014. Played in 11 games with 5 starts, finishing with 57 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 INT and 1 FF in 2015. Transferred to Marshall and sat out under NCAA transfer rules in 2016. Missed the first 4 games with the Herd serving a suspension due to prior issues at Miami involving receiving improper benefits in the form of “illegal use ofa luxury vehicle.” He and other players reportedly used cars from South Beach Exotic Rentals in exchange for future restitution. Young’s suspension came partly because he was not forthcoming with UM’s compliance department at the time. He played in the final 9 games of the season, posting 41 tackles, 3 TFL, 0.5 sacks, 3 PBU and 1 FF in 2017. Moved to defensive end in 2018.

Positives: Good athlete. Nice size and strength. Can take on and shed blocks. Physical tackler.

Negatives: Not as agile or quick as you’d like at linebacker and undersized as a down end.

Summary: Potentially draftable with a strong senior campaign.
