Saivion Smith, CB, Alabama #4

6005, 200, 4.53

Notes: From Tampa, FL. Originally signed with LSU. Played in 3 games, credited with 4 tackles and 2 pass breakups, but failed a drug test and would not play again for the Tigers in 2016. Spent the 2017 season at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Transferred to Alabama in January 2018. Played in all 15 games with 12 starts, recorded 60 tackles, 0.5 tackles-for-loss, 3 interceptions (returned 71 yards, including 1 touchdown), 8 PBU and 1 forced fumble in 2018. Was carted off in the third-quarter of the National Championship game with a leg injury.

Positives: Nice size, length and athletic ability. Can run with receivers in coverage and make plays on the ball. Flashes good ball skills. Makes big plays.

Negatives: Needs footwork and technique development. Appears to have concentration lapses at times and gets out of position. Inconsistent.

Summary: Could have benefited from another season in college but has the tools to play at the next level if he can develop better discipline and consistency.
