Andraez Williams, CB, Louisiana State #29

6010, 184, 4.50

Notes: Goes by nickname "Greedy," a name given to him by his aunt when he was young. From Shreveport, LA. Redshirted in 2016. Started every game at left cornerback, finished with 38 tackles, 11 PBU and 6 INT (for 32 return yards) in 2017.

Positives: Nice height. Long frame. Has lockdown coverage ability. Great instincts and tremendous ball skills. Very good hands. Keeps his head on a swivel and has natural feel for the position. Does a really nice job reacting to the ball and getting his head around. Jumps well and can attack the ball at its highest point. Can run with receivers stride-for-stride in coverage. Terrific man-to-man cover skills and can be left on an island. Keeps his weight low and has good balance and body control. Very smooth and fluid in his movement. Excellent hips. Good technique. Near prototype outside corner, but has also taken some reps inside in the slot and shows a sound understanding of the defense. Has a knack for jumping the route. Smart and disciplined. Leader of the secondary.

Negatives: Has a bit of a narrow frame and needs to get stronger. Needs a little added bulk. Not always physical or aggressive on run support. Won’t aggressively attack the runner/receiver when tackling. Doesn’t have blazing stopwatch speed.

Summary: Top-ten talent coming into the season and a high first-round prospect. Has all the traits to be a shutdown corner in the NFL.
